Interesting Animal Facts Handwriting Worksheets for Kids of All Ages
Time for some more fun handwriting worksheets for kids!
This time, they’re full of interesting animal facts!
Most kids love animals, so it’s fun to get them writing using fun facts about their favorites.
BONUS: They’re working on their fine motor and writing skills while simultaneously learning scientific facts they will never forget.
What Are Silly Handwriting Worksheets?
Handwriting worksheets are a fun way to get students motivated and engaged to write. The reason for writing might be to improve their finger spacing or their penmanship. As students get older, they learn to appreciate writing more, but many aren’t huge fans, expecially if their handwriting isn’t very good.
These Animal Handwriting Worksheets for kids have a fun fact written in traceable print at the top of the page. The students trace the sentence once. Then, there are primary lines beneath to write the sentence 1 – 2 more times.
Once they finish writing, there are check boxes available to make sure they have used appropriate finger spacing between words, proper capitalization and punctuation and they can check that their writing is their best work. The kids really like these checkboxes because they are able to hold themselves accountable.
There is also an area where students can draw their own picture to depict the fun animal fact!
There are 20 pages of the animal fun facts, that’s a whole month of school days you can use these fun sheets!
The handwriting worksheets also come in a Cursive format.
How Can I Use These Worksheets?
Since these worksheets aren’t themed by the time of year, they can be used at any time of year. Bring them out at the start of the year to reintroduce students to writing in the classroom. Add them in at the end of the school year as a fun activity, or use them yearround for students that need extra practice.
In years past, I have used these handwriting worksheets for kids to help them with their fine motor skills as needed. I like to keep them in my writing bins for students to use during center times or when they complete other activities quickly.
Some teachers like to print copies for each student and bind them together with either staples or rings. Students can keep their own personal handwriting notebook in their desk to use as extra practice as needed. This also provides them with fun reading material if they need something to do!
If you want to save paper, print and laminate the sheets to use in centers with a dry erase marker. This is a great choice if you want to keep the copies year after year!
They also make great morning work activities or homework when you don’t have anything else on hand.
Why Use a Worksheet Like This?
It’s easy enough to give each student a writing journal at the beginning of the year and let them write in it whenever needed, but it’s more fun to have silly animal facts to use!
When students have a blank journal page in front of them, they don’t always know what to write about. They’ll sit there for what seems like forever just thinking.
If they have an idea already in front of them, they are more likely to get writing immediately.
Besides, these activities are for practicing handwriting and fine motor skills! They will love the interesting animals facts and are sure to share them with friends and family for years to come.
