Inexpensive Holiday Gift for Parents
One of my struggles as a teacher has always been holiday gifts for parents! I always want to make sure parents feel the love from their kiddos over the break, but gifts get super expensive so dang fast!
This year I wanted a low prep gift that wouldn’t cost anything, but would still show parents how special they are! That’s why I created this snow globe craft with the flip flap!

Here are couple ideas for creating this craft with your kiddos!
Snowflakes:
-I used snowflake glitter that I snagged from Hobby Lobby!
-You could use colored scrapbook paper and use a snowflake hole punch!
-Have students draw snowflakes using markers or add glitter! Glitter makes everything better right?!
Snow Globe Base:
There are 3 options. One has a cursive font, the other has a print font, and the other is blank. Use the blank one to have students write their own messages!
Flip Flap:
Below is a sneak peek inside! It’s all about family traditions!
Ornament:
Hole punch the snow globe and flip flap to turn it into an ornament!
Picture:
I just took the picture against a wall and printed it on card stock at home. Then I cut the picture out and glued it on top of the globe!
Sizing the picture:
1. I uploaded each picture into Powerpoint because I find it easier to manipulate pictures on there.
2. Double click the picture and I cropped out the excess background out to save on ink. (see image below)
3. Then I made the height 3 inches and didn’t worry about the width. That seemed to work well for me!
Tips and Tricks:
-Print the pictures on a school computer instead of taking them to the store to save some money!
-Laminate the ornament to make it sturdier!
